Not inside the channel itself. A channel is a broadcast, so only administrators can post there. Conversation happens in a discussion group linked to the channel, and that is the intended arrangement rather than a workaround.
How the link works
- Open the channel, then its settings.
- Choose Discussion.
- Link an existing group, or create a new one on the spot.
From then on every channel post gains a Comments button. Tapping it opens the thread for that post inside the linked group, so replies stay attached to what they are about instead of collecting in one long conversation.
Why this separation is useful
- Subscribers who want announcements only are not notified about every comment.
- Moderation applies to the group, so a difficult discussion never affects the channel's own posts.
- Readers can comment without being able to post into the channel.
- You can remove the link at any time; the channel keeps working.
Reaching an administrator directly
If there is no discussion group, subscribers can only contact whoever the channel names. Most channels put a contact username in the description for this reason. Administrators can also post anonymously under the channel's own name, which is why a channel post rarely identifies which person wrote it.
