How to Use Telegram Desktop Group Video Calls: Dedicated Windows, Multi-Monitor Setup & Selective Screen Sharing Guide
On a computer a Telegram call opens in its own window. You can move it to a second monitor, resize it, and carry on using the main app behind it — reading the chat, sending a file, looking something up.
That one detail is why the desktop is the right place to run a call rather than merely attend one, and there are three more controls there that no phone has.

Phones and tablets make a call the thing on screen. A desktop call is one window among several, so the natural arrangement is the call on the side and your actual work in front of you. Anybody who has spent an hour in a meeting while trying to do something else knows the difference.
Screen sharing on a desktop is also a real choice rather than all-or-nothing. Picking a single application window is the right default: whatever else you open, switch to, or receive a notification from stays out of view.
And because it is a desktop, there is a keyboard. Push-to-talk binds a key that unmutes you only while it is held, which is the single best setting in any call with more than a handful of people.
