The short answer
- 1Telegram Web runs in the browser, so check the browser first.
- 2A private window rules out extensions; site-data clearing logs you out.
- 3On work or school networks, Telegram may simply be blocked.

Telegram Web lives in your browser
Telegram Web at web.telegram.org needs nothing installed, which also means the browser decides whether it works. When the page will not load, stays blank, or keeps asking you to log in, check the browser before anything else.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Blank or half-loaded page | An extension, or an outdated browser | Try a private window with extensions off, or update the browser |
| Logged out every time you close the browser | The browser deletes site data on exit | Use a normal window, or allow web.telegram.org to keep its data |
| Stuck on "Connecting…" | The network blocks Telegram | Try another network; see below |
| The page does not open at all | The address is blocked on this network or device | Check with your IT team, or use another network |
Extensions and privacy settings
Ad blockers, script blockers and some privacy extensions stop parts of Telegram Web from loading. The quickest test is a private or incognito window, where most extensions are off. If Telegram Web works there, turn your extensions back on one by one in a normal window to find the culprit, then allow web.telegram.org in it.
Browsers set to clear cookies and site data when they close also delete your Telegram Web login every time. If you want to stay logged in on your own computer, add an exception for web.telegram.org.
Work and school networks
Company and school networks often block messaging services, including web.telegram.org. If Telegram Web works at home but not at work, that is the network, not Telegram. Ask your IT team whether Telegram is allowed; using it against the rules can break your workplace's policies. See Telegram on a school or office network.
Two web versions
web.telegram.org offers two official web clients, at web.telegram.org/k/ and web.telegram.org/a/. If one misbehaves in your browser, try the other: your chats are the same in both. Logging in step by step is covered in logging in to Telegram Web.
Next step: antivirus or company security software blocking Telegram.
