Telegram runs on phones, tablets and computers, and you can be signed in on as many devices as you like at the same time. One phone number, one account, everywhere.
The apps
| Platform | Requirement |
|---|---|
| iOS | 13.0 and above |
| Android | 5.0 and up |
| macOS | A native app built for the platform |
| Windows, macOS, Linux | The universal desktop app |
| Any browser | Telegram Web, for doing something quickly |
What "sync" actually means here
Cloud chats live with the account rather than the handset, so every device sees the same conversations, the same history and the same media, updated instantly. You are not restoring a backup or pairing a companion device to a phone that has to stay switched on. A new computer signs in and the entire history is simply there.
The one exception
Secret Chats do not sync. They are tied to the device that created them and to that login session, which is the point: nothing about them exists in the cloud to sync. They also do not appear on Telegram Web.
Managing where you are signed in
Open Settings, Devices to see every active session with its platform and location, terminate any you do not recognise, and set older sessions to expire automatically. Reviewing this occasionally is the most useful security habit on the list.
