Profile Rating is a numerical badge on a profile, based on the total volume of successful Telegram Stars transactions that account has made. It is a track record, not a popularity score or a review average.
What moves it
| Raises it | Lowers it |
|---|---|
| Buying gifts | Refunding Star purchases |
| Sending Paid Messages | Converting gifts back into Stars |
| Funding Suggested Posts |
What it is for
It gives channel owners a quick signal when a stranger approaches them, most often about a Suggested Post. A rating built from completed transactions indicates an account that has actually followed through on payments before, which is exactly the question an owner has when someone they do not know proposes a paid arrangement.
How to read it
- It measures spending history, not trustworthiness in general. A high rating says the account has transacted at volume, nothing more.
- A low or absent rating is not a red flag. Most people never spend Stars at all.
- It can fall. Reversing transactions reduces it, which is what stops it from being something you can simply buy and keep.
Treat the rating as one input among several. A username published on a site you can verify, an established channel, and a consistent history are all stronger evidence of who somebody is than any single number on a profile.
