A voice chat has two kinds of people in it: those with a live microphone and those without. Telegram lets you decide which somebody is before they arrive, by sending them a speaker link instead of a listener link.
That single choice is most of what stage management is. The rest is deciding who to promote once the room is running, and how to get them back down.

The invite panel offers both links at once, which is the moment the decision is actually made.

The speaker link brings somebody in able to talk. The listener link brings them in muted. Both open the same voice chat; the difference is what happens when they unmute.
This is worth using deliberately because the alternative is doing it by hand at the worst possible moment. A panel where the guests arrive with microphones already working starts on time. A panel where you are promoting four people while two hundred are listening does not.
The listener link is the one you post publicly. The speaker link goes privately to the specific people who should be heard, and nowhere else — anybody holding it can speak.

Decide who speaks before the room opens. Everything you do live is a correction, and corrections are audible.

- Start the voice chat from the group or channel As an admin, from the profile menu.
- Choose how you appear Your own profile, or one of your channels.
- Open the invite panel It offers a speaker link and a listener link separately.
- Send the speaker link privately Only to the people who should be heard.
- Post the listener link publicly That is the one for the audience.
- Watch the raised hands Promote, then demote when they are done.
