Unblock Someone and Find Your Telegram Blocked Users List

Where the Blocked Users list is

Everyone you have blocked is on one list in Privacy and Security. It is the place to check if someone says they cannot reach you, or if you cannot add someone to a group and the app says "because you've blocked them".

The row shows how many people are blocked, or None. Inside, the screen explains what blocking does: blocked users "can't send you messages or add you to groups. They will not see your profile photos, stories, online and last seen status."

Unblock someone

• From the list: on Android, the app says "Press and hold user to unblock." On iPhone and Telegram Desktop, open the person or use the option next to their name.
• From their chat: a blocked chat shows an Unblock button where the message box normally is. Tap it.
• From their profile: open the profile and choose Unblock user from the menu.

Unblocking is immediate and silent: they are not told. Messages they tried to send while blocked do not arrive afterwards; only new ones do.

Unblocking a bot

A blocked bot shows Restart (or Restart Bot on iPhone) instead of Unblock. Tapping it unblocks the bot and starts it again, which sends the bot a start command. Only do it for a bot you actually want to use.

Before you unblock

If you blocked someone because they harassed or scammed you, think about why before reversing it. Blocking was quiet; unblocking is quiet too, but it reopens every route they had: messages, calls, adding you to groups, seeing your photo and last seen. For people who should keep out but whom you do not want to block, privacy settings can narrow each of those separately. See who can see your phone number.
